This company especially ghosted me in the middle of court proceedings. The last time I talked to my attorney, Phillip... Vera, everything sounded good and he was going to reach out to opposing counsel. He never did. I had to get new representation because they just dropped me. I would be fine with that if they would have told me. I was just ignored until I went away.
Keep in mind that the attorneys at this company have a history of dropping you in the middle of court proceedings, not showing up to court proceedings, and basically leave you standing alone to figure it out yourself.
If they would have talked to me and told me they did not want to represent me, I wouldn’t have any problems. I could have made the decision I needed to quickly. But they didn’t, they just ghosted me and left me hanging with no idea I was not being legally represented by them. Please keep this in mind when choosing a lawyer because it makes all the difference in the world.

Philip Vera recently provided me with extremely unprofessional divorce representation. I HIGHLY discourage you from... contacting him.
To summarize - court records show he did not file a status quo order, he ignored multiple messages and emails I sent, did not communicate about timelines for witness lists and evidence filings, told me I was making a “stupid, emotional decision” during negotiation, refused to take my case to trial upon my request, and wrote multiple incorrect statements into the divorce judgment.
It is my opinion that you find a different attorney to represent you.read more

I contacted Michigan Law Services to initiate a divorce, and after I had paid the retainer, I found out that I was... already divorced but hadn't been notified. Phil was great throughout (and very thorough), and ended up refunding me a portion of the retainer, which I did not expect at all.
